Eidfjord Autorent is a family business, run by husband and wife – Bjørn and Iliyana Midtbø. The car rental is a product which is provided solely for cruise guests who arrive in Eidfjord from the beginning of April to the end of October.
Our operating hours are only when there is a cruiseship at port in Eidfjord. We do not run a traditional car rental company and we are independent from bigger companies such as Hertz or Avis. Therefore, we are not able to offer car rental to tourists needing a car for several days or who wants to travel at a greater distance.
From the same location we also run a dealership, meaning all our cars even then ones that are for rent are for sale- but on days with cruise ships we rent out the ones that are still available.
Eidfjord Autorent is located 150m from Eidfjord Cruise Port. We have a selection of different types of cars but in limited numbers so we recommend booking in advance.
We are open from 08:30AM and can be available until the ship leaves. In which case a ship arrives on a Saturday or Sunday we can also keep open depending on the ship.
If ships like AIDA, MSC or Holland American line arrives on a weekend, we tend to be open from 9AM Saturday/Sunday. From experience not all clients from various cruise liners are interested in renting a car, therefore, it is not guaranteed that we are open on a weekend.
If you write to us in advance, we can let you know the availability. We tend to keep closed during large events in Eidfjord such as the Norseman or Xtreme Eidfjord events.
