Bordalsgjelet is a spectacular natural attraction within walking distance of the city center. The deep and dramatic Bordalsgjelet is accessible to the public with an information board, viewpoint and benches. When there is no snow and ice, there is also a designated path that you can follow inland. Here you get a good view of the fantastic holes that ice and river have shaped over the millennium, but remember, for your safety: stick to the marked paths!
Notes: Follow the paved path into the gorge, do not try to climb over the fence!
On foot, 45 min: From Voss city center, follow the gravel road along Vangsvatnet into Prestegardsmoen. At the end of Prestegardsmoen, cross the bridge over the river Vosso. After the bridge, turn right, along the river and follow the signs to Bordalsgjelet. When you get up the hill, turn left, and you will come to a footpath. Continue until you see the parking lot and the information board on the left. Go up to the left and through the gate, follow the path into the gorge.
By car, 10 min: Follow Uttrågata and then Gjernesvegen from Voss city center. Park in the parking lot with the information board on the left side of the road.
