As a proud member of Cittaslow, Ulvik champions sustainable tourism, slow living, and community values. Known as Norway’s poetry village, it was home to celebrated poet Olav H. Hauge, whose life and work are beautifully preserved at the Olav H. Hauge Centre, right by the fjord.

Ulvik is also home to Norway’s only Fruit & Cider Route, featuring three family-run farms where visitors can enjoy cider tastings, farm tours, and learn about local fruit-growing traditions.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to love: kayaking on calm fjord waters, scenic fjord cruises, hikes like Kvasshovden or Oksen with sweeping views, and guided nature walks offered by Ulvik Hiking Association.

Key highlights in Ulvik include Ulvik Church, a white cruciform wooden structure from 1859 adorned with traditional rosemaling interiors, the scenic Syse Glas studio with handmade glassware, and the warm hospitality of small cafés and guesthouses in the village centre.
